Kind Mr. Ferus
Thinking like that, I began the test in earnest.
The test itself was simple.
Well, it wasn't that it was complicated, it was more like a test of everything I had learned in my first year.
As such, the scope was enormous.
But it didn't matter to me.
Because I remembered everything anyway.
I used a pen to write on the paper.
The test had a total of one hundred questions.
Perhaps it would be nearly impossible for an average student to solve them all.
It didn't seem like the test was designed to be completed in the first place.
However-
'This is this.'
It wasn't particularly difficult for me.
There were some trivial questions in the middle, but they weren't that difficult.
I felt like someone with a really good head could get a perfect score.
However, it's important to remember that this is a first-year exam.
What if I went up a grade?
The difficulty of the exam would increase exponentially.
'Ah, this is annoying.'
I wanted to give up on everything, but something felt wrong about doing so.
It would be a shame to waste all the effort I've put in so far.
And reading books here was quite fun.
Fundamentally, I also needed to obtain 'Subspace Magic'.
'If Subspace Magic turns out to be nothing special...'
I was thinking of dissecting the technique right there and then.
With those useless thoughts, I wrote down the answers to all the questions.
"I, I'm finished."
"..Already, ahem. Then you can submit it and go."
"Yes."
I handed the test paper to the teacher, who had their eyes covered, and went outside.
As I stepped outside, the cool air greeted me.
It was a stark contrast to the gloomy atmosphere I had been in just a moment ago.
'Still, it's too creepy.'
It was the kind of atmosphere where ghosts might appear if I wasn't careful.
If it were Korea, I would have said such a thing as a joke, but in this other world, ghosts really did exist.
Ghosts were bound to appear in places where people didn't go often, places rich in mana, and places that were eerie.
That's why the residents of this world tried to minimize the number of rooms without light in places where mana was abundant.
Because it was quite a hassle to exorcise a ghost once it appeared.
And yet they were maintaining it like that.
'Well… I'm sure there's a reason.'
I am, after all, an outsider.
It's not something I can judge by my own standards.
The best thing to do would be to observe.
With that thought, I headed to the dorm.
I plopped down on the dorm bed and rolled around.
I don't know when the test results will come out...
I was waiting because I heard the results would be delivered to the dorms of the cadets who took the test.
No matter how much I studied during that time, I wasn't the type to enjoy studying that much.
To be honest, I hated it.
That's why I was rolling around like this, taking a break.
"Ah, I don't want to study…"
I'm studying now because I have a lot to lose, but I wasn't cut out for studying by nature.
I wanted to get up from my seat whenever I studied.
If there hadn't been a sofa in the library, I probably wouldn't have been able to study for long.
Thinking like that, I turned on the forum.
Turning on the forum was the best thing to do when I had nothing to do.
It kept me entertained.
With that thought, I checked today's forum hot topic.
"It's still Koruntum."
Why on earth was a Legion Commander suddenly summoned to Koruntum?
It's not like they can summon a Legion Commander just because they want to.
It's highly likely that someone met certain conditions for the summoning.
Or maybe a Legion Commander was sleeping there all along, and they lost the tool that was suppressing it.
Thinking such thoughts, I wrote a post.

[Title: Please no more Koruntum talk ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´ã„´]
[Content: Let's have a healthy discussion]
I posted it and waited for the comments.
And after a while.
Comments started to appear.
L: Nope, don't want to
L: So what healthy discussion are we having? Throw us a topic
ã„´ ReallyDirtPoor: I don't know
ã„´: ?
ã„´: You're the one who said you wanted a healthy discussion, what kind of bullshit is this?
ã„´: Is this guy crazy lol
ã„´: What kind of person is this?
ã„´: What the hell is this stupid post as soon as I enter the forum?
ã„´ ReallyDirtPoor: No, I was just kidding, why is everyone attacking me all of a sudden, this is too much;;
ã„´: Everyone on the forum is on their period right now, so don't touch them.
L: I don't like the current forum topic either, but there's nothing else to talk about lol
ã„´: True lol
ã„´: Honestly, I don't give a shit about Koruntum, but I'm just rolling with the punches
ã„´ ReallyDirtPoor: No lol
Anyway, I thought it was about time I found out more about what happened in Koruntum.
Normally, I wouldn't be so interested in what happens elsewhere, but Koruntum was a place I had been to once, so it didn't feel like someone else's business.
And in this situation, there was someone I could ask.
So I searched the forum for that person's nickname.
"Did Ferus write anything recently?"
All I had to do was go to Ferus' most recent post and leave a comment.
Ferus was, to put it bluntly, someone who could be called a 'forum addict' without exaggeration.
He was on the forum 24/7, answering everyone's questions.
Oh, there were rare occasions when he wouldn't answer someone else's question, and that was when he was in the middle of a battle.
Other than that, he answered almost every question.
With that in mind, I left a comment on Ferus' most recent post.
L ReallyDirtPoor: Hey, do you happen to know what's going on in Koruntum these days? I haven't been on the forum much lately.
As soon as I left the comment-
A reply came flying in.
ã„´ Ferus: Koruntum is in chaos right now. It's incredibly difficult to deal with the monsters that the Legion Commander is summoning. So, I'm telling you, don't come here unless you have to. It's a very tough place.
It seemed Ferus remembered me as much as I was thinking about him.
That's how often we used to remember each other's nicknames while browsing the forum.
It's a fact that only people who spend a lot of time on forums realize, but the more you browse a forum, the more you realize that the same people are always there.
It feels like the same people are constantly posting.
So you can't help but become attached to each other.
It's like you become close.
With that in mind, I left a comment.
ã„´ ReallyDirtPoor: Ah, I understand. Thanks for the advice.
Ferus wasn't the type to add such afterthoughts, so to see him do so meant he definitely remembered my nickname.
Or maybe he was feeling generous these days and adding afterthoughts to other people's comments.
Personally, I hoped it was the former.
Thinking about such things, I browsed the forum a little more.
'There must be pictures...'
It was a characteristic of forums that there was always someone who uploaded pictures.
Because posts with pictures got a lot of views.
There were people who came in out of curiosity.
With that in mind, I started checking all the posts on the forum.
What kind of posts would there be?
Scrolling-
After scouring through the posts, I managed to find a few decent ones.
However, there was something that was starting to annoy me.
"Why can't they write decent posts?"
Why were there so many useless posts?
It was baffling.
With that thought, I checked out the useful posts.

[Title: This is the current situation in Koruntum.]
[Content: (Photo)(Photo)(Photo) The thing you see in the distance is the Legion Commander, but we still don't know which one it is. Be careful if you're thinking of coming to Koruntum.]
L: Ah, Koruntum is fucked lol
L: Anyway, if the by-product prices are going crazy, upvote lol
ã„´: True lol
ã„´: It's definitely going crazy lol
ã„´: lol
ã„´: Seems like it's going to be a disaster
ã„´: But why Koruntum of all places? It's really annoying lol Why not drop it in useless Baruk or something?
ã„´: What
ã„´: Scratched Baruk resident spotted lol
ã„´: From the perspective of someone living in Lukphelton, it's all the same, so what's the difference lol...
"...They're even having faction wars here?"
I couldn't believe it.
To think they were still dividing and conquering even in another world.
It seemed like dividing and conquering was a special characteristic of the human species.
With that thought, I checked the picture.
In the picture was what appeared to be a Legion Commander with a tremendously huge body.
As if aware that it was being looked at, the Legion Commander was staring straight at the spot where the picture was taken.
It looked a little scary.
Or rather, grotesque, to be precise.
'Ah, I have to get a wand.'
I had to graduate from the academy quickly and get a wand.
If Koruntum was in that state, it would be difficult to obtain the by-products needed to make a wand.
Then I'd have no choice but to deal with that Legion Commander myself.
"Sigh..."
Feeling my head getting complicated, I lay down on the bed and fell asleep-
The next day.
I received a document stating that I had passed the written exam.
Now, only one thing remained.
To pass the practical exam.

What's with the nickname change? He was "reallydirtpoor" and now it suddenly changed his nickname. It also talked about how Ferus remembered his nickname... which is ridiculous since it's totally different this chapter. Is it translation error?
ReplyDeleteA couple of chapters back, there was also someone else named "reallydirtpoor" that posted instead of the MC.
Please make it consistent... it gets confusing if it isn't. Is it translation error...? or something else?
Hi, There is another user ReallyDirtPoor*Follower*, are you sure you are not confused with the same? Fixed the issue in this chapter, seems I missed to do a find and replace... there's been more than 30 translation variations for MC's nickname and it seems this one was missed. Thanks for pointing out.
