Jo Sung-hyun was a bit flustered and didn't know what to do, so he couldn't speak easily.

He cautiously leaned against the car and continued the call.

-I thought about it, and no matter how I calculate it, it doesn't seem to add up with just a cup of coffee.

"Add up?"

-You helped me, right? I almost stepped on shit, but you told me it was shit. But if I pay you back with just a cup of coffee, it doesn't seem to match the name Seo Yena.

Seo Yena said.

Jo Sung-hyun tried to figure out why she was saying this, and what she wanted.

Right now, Seo Yena's words were telling him that she wanted to do more for him, but in reality, it wasn't entirely true.

Seo Yena wasn't stupid.

She was a singer who had been active in the entertainment industry for a long time.

She had experienced various incidents and accidents, and established herself as one of the pillars of Pan Entertainment.

Would such a person bring up a past story without any calculation, after trying hard to find out his contact information?

'That's ridiculous.'

Of course, Seo Yena could just be nice and kind, and that's why she did that.

If it wasn't Seo Yena, but Yumi, Jo Sung-hyun would have felt her sincere gratitude.

But Seo Yena wasn't.

Jo Sung-hyun didn't know Seo Yena well, but that was enough for him to predict her actions.

-Why are you not saying anything? Are you feeling a bit awkward because I'm grateful?

"Ah, I was distracted for a moment. I'm sorry."

-I can hear you rolling your eyes, wondering what to ask for. What distraction?

Seo Yena said, as if she wasn't amused.

She wasn't the type to trust people easily either.

That's how the entertainment industry is.

It's a place where you can't trust anyone easily.

Jo Sung-hyun looked at the kindergarten in the distance, and opened his mouth.

"I don't have any intention of asking for anything. Ms. Yena. I don't think you have to worry about that."

-It's not that I'm worried, but it's a rule of thumb to repay kindness twice, and revenge ten times. I think it's too conscienceless to pay you back with just a cup of coffee, and you never know. There might be some rumors later.

"...?"

Jo Sung-hyun wondered if there was such a rule of thumb, but he didn't say it out loud.

Seo Yena clicked her tongue when Jo Sung-hyun didn't say anything.

He spoke up when he heard that sound.

"I won't leave any rumors, and I'm fine with coffee."

He was going to quit soon, and he didn't want to get involved with Seo Yena any more.

It was best for him to leave cleanly.

But it seemed that wasn't the case for Seo Yena.

-Ah, then how about this. My manager position is vacant right now, how about you become my manager. It seems like a good opportunity.

Jo Sung-hyun blinked.

Seo Yena's manager position.

It was an attractive position that he would have seriously considered if he hadn't planned to quit.

The influence of the name Seo Yena was considerable.

But there was no room for thought now.

"You must not have heard from Mr. Woo. I'm quitting this week."

-Huh. What do you mean by quitting all of a sudden. You have to make sense. You just followed Yumi's comeback on Saturday and her schedule today.

"...I think you should ask Mr. Woo about that."

Getting annoyed, Jo Sung-hyun said that and glanced at the time.

Chae-yoon must be waiting.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Yena. I have to go pick up my daughter. I have to go now."

-Huh... I see. I really. This is the first time I've been treated like this in my life.

Jo Sung-hyun didn't answer.

He just quietly pressed the end call button.

He casually shoved his smartphone into his pocket and walked.

To meet his daughter.

* * *

On the way home.

Chae-yoon was smiling brightly.

Jo Sung-hyun looked at her and smiled faintly.

"Chae-yoon."

"Yes?"

"Did you have a good day today?"

"Yes!"

Chae-yoon answered right away.

Jo Sung-hyun felt his mood improve as he saw her unusually happy face, and opened his mouth.

"What happened?"

"Young-joon said Chae-yoon plays the piano well!"

She said that and giggled.

Jo Sung-hyun felt a strange feeling as he looked at her.

Was it such a good thing that Young-joon said she played the piano well?

'Well, she loves music the most. It must feel good to be recognized for that.'

Especially if the other person was a friend.

"Young-joon knows how to listen to music."

"Young-joon is not a bad kid."

Jo Sung-hyun smiled at the child's expression.

"Chae-yoon, what do you want to eat for dinner?"

When they were almost home, Jo Sung-hyun asked.

It was time to be hungry.

Chae-yoon thought for a moment and turned her head to Jo Sung-hyun.

"Dad?"

"Are you going to eat dad for dinner?"

Jo Sung-hyun asked with a smile, and Chae-yoon's eyes widened and shook her head vigorously.

"No. That would be a big trouble!"

Chae-yoon said as if it was absolutely not allowed, and Jo Sung-hyun smiled again.

He knew what she meant by that.

She was asking what he wanted to eat.

"I'm fine with anything. We have rice cake at home, so how about making tteokbokki?"

"Dad can make tteokbokki?"

"I can, right?"

Jo Sung-hyun nodded and said.

He couldn't have never made tteokbokki in his life.

Chae-yoon's face brightened at Jo Sung-hyun's words.

"Chae-yoon likes it!"

That's how the dinner menu was decided to be tteokbokki.
