Orthrus.
Also known as Orthus, it was a monster that appeared in Greek mythology.
Its appearance was that of a two-headed dog, and although it was less well-known than the Minotaur, it was far superior in rank. It was mythologically very close to the three-headed dog, Cerberus.
Originally, its strength should have been comparable, but with one less head and less recognition, it was set to be somewhat weaker.
However, that was only in comparison to Cerberus, a ridiculously powerful monster even in mythology, and the Minotaur was not even a point of comparison.

There were many Minotaurs, but only one Orthrus. Considering that one Orthrus far surpassed all the Minotaurs combined, one could grasp its true strength.

The Orthrus growled, as its appearance would suggest.
The power it boasted, capable of high-speed sprints, was waiting for the moment to explode.
There were three conditions for them to charge at the humans.
If one or more of the humans they were currently surrounding were to leave the battlefield.
Similarly, if one or more of them became incapable of fighting.
If all of the humans participated in the battle. If even one of these conditions was met, they would immediately charge.
In fact, on Frondier’s side, Basileo was not in any condition to fight, so they had already met the second condition. However, they had waited for a while because they couldn’t see Basileo, who was inside the carriage.
But they had waited long enough, and Orthrus was certain. One of them was in no state to fight.

He was smiling.
The Orthrus got a good look at his face.
It was undoubtedly the human who had been radiating unparalleled rage just a moment ago.
Seeing that look of rage, the Orthrus had been certain.
This man was the strongest among them. The most dangerous being that needed to be eliminated first.
But why?
“It’d be embarrassing if I didn’t do this right.”
Why had that rage completely vanished from the man?
Why was he even more terrifying now than before when he was filled with rage?
That smile, just what had triggered it—
“So just die, will you? I’m really sorry about this.”
The man said sheepishly.
As if he were truly sorry.
