Chapter 474 Part 2 - The Academy’s Weapon Replicator

The two of them arrived at a village.

It was quite a distance from the capital, an isolated village with no other towns nearby.

Peddlers would visit from time to time, but it was a place that required traveling a considerable distance.

Inevitably, security was lax, and most problems had to be solved within the village.

“Hello.”

Frondier entered a pawnshop in the village and greeted the owner.

As if expecting Frondier's arrival, the owner put down the items and tools he was examining and looked at him.

“……You really came.”

His tone was rather light and friendly. It was as if he was an acquaintance of Frondier's.

“Have you met him before?”

Elodie asked, and it was Frondier who answered.

“No. It's a tactic many devils use. If they speak kindly, humans tend to hear it as something beneficial to them.”

“……Why on earth do you know that?”

As the two of them talked, the pawnshop owner glanced behind him.

“Oh, you're here. What can I do for you?”

Following his gaze, the door to the back of the pawnshop, presumably where a warehouse was located, opened.

The one who appeared was Baal.

A smile spread across Frondier's face.

“I like how quick you are, Baal.”

“……If what you said is true, it's only right that I wait here.”

“You're right.”

Elodie heard their conversation and confirmed Baal's appearance.

‘……That's Baal.’

A dangerous being that triggered a strong reaction from her Mana Sense.

The King of Hell, Baal.

‘……Huh, that's strange.’

Elodie's Mana Sense was different from Frondier's Extrasensory Perception. Frondier's Extrasensory Perception focused on 'observation.' Therefore, it reacted more sensitively, accurately, and quickly.

However, Elodie's Mana Sense was closer to 'scrutiny.' So, although it was somewhat slower than Extrasensory Perception, it could tell her more as long as she scrutinized.

‘This man, the power he possesses is small compared to his caliber.’

Elodie saw what Frondier couldn't. This was because Frondier couldn't see 'caliber.' This 'caliber' was Elodie's own interpretation, determined by synthesizing and reasoning the many things she learned through Mana Sense.

‘Come to think of it, Frondier said it. That Baal was a being like Beelzebub, and it was strange that both of them existed.’

Would this sense of incongruity she felt help her interpret it?

Meanwhile, Baal asked Frondier,

“Frondier, are you going to kill Andro?”

Andro. Frondier knew who it was the moment he heard it.

The 72nd devil, Andromalius. There was no need to shorten it.

“It depends on the situation.”

Frondier said the same thing he had said to Elodie.

Frondier glanced at Andro.

‘……I don't feel any threatening Mana from him right now, but devils aren't all about Mana.’

Frondier looked at Baal again and said,

“Baal, I have a rough idea. What you're thinking. I understand your desire to return to the Demon Realm. So, let's talk.”

“……If it's about Charon, I don't know anything—”

Just as Baal said that.

Frondier pointed his finger, shaped like a gun, at Andro.

Pick─

Andro collapsed.

“……!”

“Uh……!”

Baal and Elodie froze in surprise.

Frondier said,

“Now, shall we try that again?”

“……..”

As if he had no memory of what he had just done, Frondier spoke to Baal,

“Let's talk, Baal.”
