Frondier received various information from Colin.

The whereabouts of the humans who received the divine powers of Hera and Aphrodite, respectively, how they gathered their forces and clashed with each other. And what kind of actions Charon took in between.

As originally planned, the group decided to head to where Charon was. Charon's residence was not in the capital. It took a considerable amount of time by car. According to Colin, he seems to have moved recently.

Hearing that, Frondier said,

“He sounds like someone who knows the capital is about to fall apart.”

and Colin nodded.

“And he wouldn’t have moved just because of a civil war. I don't know if he's going away for a while. This is a move made with the conviction that the capital will be in ruins.”

Suspicions about Charon are growing.

Frondier slowly looked through all the materials in the car. Of course, the ‘slowly’ meant that he was taking his time putting the contents of the materials into the workshop, so to others, it looked like he was reading the materials at an absurd speed.

Frondier opened his mouth while looking at the materials.

“……Selena, about this.”

“Ms. Selena is in the car behind us.”

“Oh, right.”

Frondier raised his head as if he had realized it at Carla's words.

Right now, in this car, there was only Carla, Arald, and Pielott, who was still sitting on the roof of the car.

Pielott was enjoying the drive on the roof, as if he liked the top of the black carriage even though the headwind would be quite strong.

“Is it something you can only tell Ms. Selena?”

“No, it's not that.”

When Arald asked, Frondier scratched his head. Carla asked a rather mischievous question.

“How about you tell us? We may not be as good as Ms. Selena, but we might be of help.”

“I just made a mistake……”

Frondier sighed and began to explain.

“Hera and Aphrodite, they gave their divine powers to two women named ‘Bruna’ and ‘Lupina’, respectively. And the two forces that support each woman are fighting.”

“Hmm hmm, I see. Bruna and Lupina.”

“But these two fight too often.”

“What?”

Carla tilted her head. Frondier said,

“From what I heard from Colin, the conflict between the two factions is more serious than I imagined. It seems like it could explode even tomorrow. No matter what, if the conflict has intensified to this extent, Bruna and Lupina, the owners of the forces, will also have a bad relationship with each other.”

“That’s right. That’s why they fight often.”

Arald nodded. Although he was focused on driving.

That’s when Frondier said,

“I’m asking you two, do you really fight often with someone you hate?”

“Well, of course……. Huh?”

Arald, who was about to nod unconsciously, stopped.

“……That’s not true.”

“That’s right. I try to avoid them as much as possible.”

Carla also nodded.

Frondier said,

“Unless it's an environment where you have to see each other every day, like school or work, you wouldn't want to see someone you really hate at all. Humans usually want to avoid getting hurt rather than hurting others. Of course, if you happen to run into each other, you'll fight a lot, but you'll make sure you don't meet in the first place.”

Of course, crazy bastards like Renzo are an exception to this reasoning.

If Bruna and Lupina were crazy women like Renzo, then that would be an exception.

“But you’re saying Bruna and Lupina fight often despite that.”

“That’s right. That’s strange. You have to run into each other to fight, right? No matter how much they hate each other, would they run into each other that often? Especially when they know the situation will only get worse.”

The capital that Frondier had seen was very large. It was large and complicated.

There were statues of Bruna and Lupina at the south gate and north gate of this capital, respectively. In other words, the areas of influence were arbitrarily set. Naturally, they wouldn't want to invade each other's territory.

Frondier put his hand to his mouth and said,

“I think they’re not running into each other, they’re meeting each other.”

“Meeting? Then they’ll just fight.”

At Carla's words, a voice came from the roof of the car.

“They want to fight.”

“Were you listening, Pielott?”

More like, you can hear from there?

But Pielott’s simple answer had a clear meaning.

“I think Pielott is right.”

“They want to fight……. You’re saying that their goal is to intensify the conflict?”

“Yeah. It would be a pain to pretend otherwise.”

According to Colin, Charon is instigating the fight. In Frondier's eyes, after checking the received data, it was also true.

And behind Charon is a devil, and Frondier suspects that Hera and Aphrodite are also devils.

Then, in fact, aren't all three of them hoping for a civil war?

‘They’re pretending it’s a battle of pride between two goddesses who choose humans to embody their divine powers, but in reality, they just want to destroy the capital using that as an excuse.’

But this assumption goes back and forth, amplifying the final question even further.

Arald said,

“Then the devils in the capital are truly, sincerely, picking a fight with the Gods with all their might.”

“……Right. And against Poseidon, Hera, and Aphrodite, no less.”

If it was just one devil impersonating Poseidon, you could think that there was just one crazy devil like that.

But if three devils conspired to act like Gods and were driving humans into civil war, the existing idea would be completely different.

‘I thought they were walking a tightrope, trying to profit without being caught by the Gods. But at this rate, it’s like their goal is to get caught.’

As Frondier was thinking about it, a strange thought occurred to him, and he raised his head.

“Come to think of it, Pielott.”

“Yes?”

“How did you hear the conversation in the car? You couldn’t hear it when we were coming to the capital.”

When Pielott saw the statue in the capital, he reported it to Frondier. In other words, he couldn’t hear the conversation in the car. Because he had already told him what they had talked about.

Pielott said,

“It’s quiet outside. I feel like I’ve become more sensitive somehow.”

At Pielott's words, Frondier looked out the window.

It was certainly quiet. Of course, it was like that when they came to the capital, but this silence felt quite different.

“Is it because we’re going to where Charon is? He would’ve chosen a place with as few people as possible.”

“……No, this is.”

Frondier narrowed his eyes.

He had his sixth sense, Elodie had her excellent Mana Detection, and Selena had her ability to read the atmosphere, which she had developed as an assassin. In addition, Pielott had just proven that his hearing was excellent.

Therefore, Frondier had put aside his worries about the enemy attacking first. Someone among them would be able to respond first.

But if there was someone who could penetrate all of that—

“……!”

The moment Frondier felt a strange sense of tension, the car behind them.

Selena reacted clearly.

“Lily! The car—!”

Fwooosh—

Kwaaaaaang!!!

Everyone in the car was thrown to the left.

The car swerved for a long time due to the huge impact. People collapsing due to inertia.

“Huff!”

Lily quickly turned the steering wheel. It was more of a reflex than a judgment.

The shaking car barely stabilized.

What was that? What happened?

Selena, who had sensed it beforehand, quickly checked the back of the car.

‘Explosion!’

The ground had a huge hole in it, spewing smoke.
